
Overview
This course is the second part of California’s required 32-hour post-registration training for licensed security guards.
BSIS rules require that the part 2 course be completed within the first six months after receiving your guard registration card.
Part 2 provides 16 hours of training with a mix of mandatory and elective subjects, focusing on communication, legal aspects, emergency procedures, and handling challenging situations.
What You Will Learn

🔹 Liability / Legal Aspects (Mandatory)
Understand the legal responsibilities of a security guard, including limits of authority, liability concerns, and the importance of following the law.
🔹 Evacuation Procedures (Elective)
Discover how to guide people safely during emergencies, including fire, medical, or other evacuation events.
🔹 Crowd Control (Elective)
Gain strategies for monitoring and directing crowds to keep events and public areas safe.
🔹 Arrests, Search, and Seizure (Elective)
Learn the basics of making a lawful arrest, the limits on searches, and the correct way to handle evidence and property.
Requirement
This training must be completed within six months of registration, as required by the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS).
